Insurtech revolution to take centre stage

“The end of insurance as we know it” – a presentation by US-based industry author Rob Galbraith – will be a highlight of the industry’s major insurtech conference in Sydney this week.

The two-day annual conference is organised by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and begins at the Hyatt Regency on Wednesday morning.

Now in its fourth year, the conference brings together some of the world’s brightest innovators within the insurtech space.

Mr Galbraith, who works for US insurance recruitment and development specialist company Insurance Nerds, will talk about his new book, The End of Insurance As We Know It, which examines the closing innovation gap between traditional insurance industry incumbents and insurtech startups.

ANZIIF says the conference will address the looming disruption to the insurance industry from innovation and the new markets being established.

“Over the course of the two days, attendees will be provided with unparalleled opportunities to transform thinking, influence digital innovation and drive new customer value.”

Other speakers at the conference include Insurtech Australia CEO Rita Yates, and representatives from The Digital Insurer, Cover Genius, Macquarie Bank, Montoux, Floodmapp, AirAssess, ClaimSpace, DXC Technology, AA Insurance, Hollard, Blue Zebra and Relativity 6.

The conference’s popular “Insurtech Alley” will return, connecting insurers directly with tech companies’ principals.
