NT award winners crowned

Gallagher account executive Tanya Edwards has won NT broker of the year at a gala dinner in Darwin.

Judges praised her exceptional client advocacy, tailored solutions and commitment to local businesses.

“She consistently delivers outstanding results across challenging risks, securing broader cover, competitive premiums and significant savings, while continuing to grow her portfolio and contribute to the broking profession ... providing unwavering commitment.”

The business development/underwriting professional of the year award went to TIO’s Phill Dennis, and the claims professional prize was handed to TIO’s Jane Hazell.

Customer service professional honours went to CGU’s Tory Cameron.

Young insurance professional of the year was Corporeal Health’s Rachel Fox, and the service provider prize went to Custodian Work Assist’s Ally Barnard.

IPAR Rehabilitation won the award for outstanding contribution to the NT insurance industry by a team.

The Stewart Cox Memorial Award was given to Margaret Pratten, who the judges say is “a true legend”.

“For 15 years, Margaret Pratten has been a remarkable force in the NT insurance industry. As head of operations at TIO, she has led with calmness, compassion and strength through cyclones, floods and some of the Territory’s most challenging events - always putting people and customers first.

"She has championed local expertise, strengthened industry collaboration, supported the NT Insurance Conference, mentored those around her and built relationships founded on trust and genuine care.

“Her leadership has helped shape the industry and support countless Territorians when they needed it most.”

The awards dinner was at the Darwin Convention Centre on October 2.
