CHU reopens green project grants

Strata specialist CHU Underwriting Agencies has opened applications for the second year of its Green Grant Program, offering a pool of up to $50,000.

It says the program supports residential strata building projects across two pillars: environmental sustainability, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction and water conservation; and social impact, such as community wellbeing, accessibility and safety.

Grants of up to $10,000 are available, and applicants are encouraged to seek funding that reflects the needs of their proposed project.

Applications for the 2027 grants close on March 19.

“Sustainability works best when everyone does their bit,” CHU CEO Kimberley Jonsson said.

“Whether it’s solar panels, water-saving fixtures, a shared community garden or making common areas safer and more welcoming, these projects bring residents together around a common goal and help build stronger, more harmonious communities.

“The Green Grant Program is our way of backing the communities who are ready to take that step.”

The program is open to CHU residential strata insurance policyholders of three or more years. Applications must be lodged by a body corporate, strata committee or owner. Brokers and strata managers are encouraged to ensure their clients know the opportunity exists.
