IAG strengthens climate plan
IAG has released an updated Climate Action Plan, which it says reinforces its commitment to helping build a more resilient future for customers, communities and the environment.
The plan outlines IAG’s climate-related aspirations, targets and transition activities through to 2030.
“As an insurer, we see first-hand the increasing impacts of extreme weather and natural hazards on the communities we serve,” group executive for people, performance and reputation Christine Stasi said.
“IAG’s updated Climate Action Plan strengthens our focus on practical action that supports resilience, helps customers adapt to a changing climate and contributes to the transition to a low-carbon future.”
IAG has strengthened its resilience actions interim target, which aims to help Australians and New Zealanders take 2 million actions to understand or mitigate their natural hazard risks by 2030.
It has also strengthened its sustainability capability interim target by committing to embed sustainability as a core organisational capability and within the employee experience by 2030.
