CHU has awarded $50,000 grants to seven strata communities to reduce their environmental footprints, improve energy efficiency and strengthen wellbeing.

The Green Grant Program helps the strata insurer’s policyholders with projects aligning with environmental, social and governance targets.

“These projects are proof of what strata communities can achieve when residents come together with a shared goal,” CHU CEO Kimberley Jonsson said.

The grant recipients this year are:

• Brunswick, Victoria – shared heat pump network powered by rooftop solar
• Victoria Park, WA – rooftop solar with battery storage and expanded composting
• Parkside, SA – balcony and terrace gardens with resident planting guidance
• Box Hill, Victoria – native gardens to boost biodiversity and liveability
• Braddon, ACT – upgraded recycling infrastructure to fund local food relief
• Torquay, Queensland – native shade trees, drip irrigation and a community vegetable garden
• Indooroopilly, Queensland – riverbank restoration to improve flood resilience.
