Sparke Helmore lands aviation specialist

Sparke Helmore has added aviation law expert Mark Gray-Spencer as a partner in its specialty lines team.

Mr Gray-Spencer and his team of four lawyers and two support staff have joined from his aviation and aerospace law firm GSG Legal, founded in 2014.

His previous clients have included underwriters, insurers, reinsurers, domestic and international aviation operators, airports and maintenance organisations.

Mr Gray-Spencer was president of the Aviation Law Association of Australia & New Zealand from 2016 to 2018.

“Mark is a highly respected practitioner with deep expertise in aviation and aerospace law,” Sparke Helmore specialty lines practice group leader Malcolm Cameron said.

“His arrival increases our ability to support clients in this field with an expanded range of services across Australia and the Asia-Pacific.”

The move follows the appointment of Patrick Tuohey as a specialty lines partner.
