QBE Re has hired Soichiro Tanaka as head of southeast Asia, a new role based in Singapore.

Mr Tanaka, previously Aspen’s senior underwriter, will lead QBE Re’s underwriting strategy for the region and oversee portfolio management and growth opportunities.

“We are delighted to welcome Soichiro to the role as we continue to grow our Asia portfolio,” head of Asia treaty Cindy Foo said.

“I am confident his strong technical expertise and breadth of multiline experience in southeast Asia will be an asset to QBE Re.”
