Final call for UAC Leadership Academy intake
Applications for the Underwriting Agencies Council Leadership Academy’s class of ’27 close on Friday as the program builds on the success of its first year.
UAC, which developed the program in partnership with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, has issued a final call for participants.
“The academy brings together aspiring leaders from across the underwriting agency sector to broaden their perspectives, strengthen their leadership capabilities and learn from some of the industry’s most experienced voices,” UAC said.
Next year’s program has seven modules and includes workshops, case studies, roundtable discussions and tech demos. Graduates receive an ANZIIF certificate in organisational leadership and develop practical skills.
“Participants will gain exposure to different parts of our industry, learn from outstanding industry leaders and subject matter experts, and build relationships with peers who will share the journey with them,” UAC CEO Jenny Bax said.
“But the academy has never been just about what happens in the classroom. It’s about building confidence, staying curious, asking questions and challenging your thinking. It’s also about becoming clearer about the kind of leader you want to be.”
The academy, sponsored by HDI Global, will have a maximum of 35 places available in the next intake.
UAC chair Michael Edmonds says the academy will grow and evolve following the success of the class of ’26.
“As the voice of our sector, UAC is committed to investing in the capability, expertise and professionalism that define underwriting agencies,” he said.
Applications close on Friday at 5pm (AEDT). Find details here.
