NIBA reveals claims award winner

Gallagher senior technical claims lead for construction Maree Solvyns has won the claims broker of the year award from NIBA.

Sydney-based Ms Solvyns was crowned at the National Insurance Brokers Association Convention on the Gold Coast today.

She competed against Lockton’s Jack O’Mahony and Marsh’s Robert Krleski for the honour.

“My congratulations to Maree and to this year's finalists, Jack and Robert,” NIBA CEO Richard Klipin said.

“Each of them has guided clients through the claims process with skill, professionalism and care.”

Simon Kay, CEO at award sponsor Sedgwick Australia, says Ms Solvyns “combines strong technical capability with a commitment to claims advocacy and achieving the best outcome for her clients.

“She is dedicated to education and mentoring, passing her knowledge on to others, and her contribution extends beyond her own portfolio to the profession more broadly.”

The judging panel comprised Sedgwick director Colin McEnery, Lockton head of claims Adam Squire, Aon head of Queensland Lynette Walsh, and NIBA head of business operations Heidi Schmit.

Seven other award winners are to be revealed during the convention.
