Munich Re Specialty has appointed Soofi Zia as head of operations for the Australian business.

Mr Zia was previously head of corporate organisation at the group’s Great Lakes business in Munich.

“After spending nearly a year supporting the Australian expansion journey in various capacities, I am excited to now become officially part of the local business and help transform ambition into execution,” he said on LinkedIn last week.

Former Lloyd’s regional director Chris Mackinnon joined Munich Re Specialty in April to set up the local operation and has since been expanding the team.
