Specialist underwriter Market Lane Insurance Group says Jo Mason will join its New Zealand business as MD on April 28.

Ms Mason is currently director at McDonald Everest Insurance Brokers, according to her LinkedIn.

Market Lane says she will oversee the NZ business’ “strategic direction, performance and continued growth”.

The Australian underwriting and distribution group expanded into New Zealand in 2024, with the launch of The Barn.

It says Ms Mason, who will be based in Auckland, is a “highly respected, customer-driven insurance leader with a proven track record of delivering strong financial and non-financial results, while building sustainable partnerships with intermediaries to optimise organisational performance.

“She will work closely with our team to strengthen capability, foster collaboration and drive high performance across New Zealand.”
