Gilchrist Connell has appointed David Chew as a principal in its Melbourne office.  

Mr Chew specialises in dispute and advisory, with a focus on financial lines, construction and property sectors.

He advises insurers on product development and regulatory matters, and helps corporate clients with insurance and risk frameworks.

He also has expertise in technically complex matters, including multiparty disputes and class actions.

Mr Chew joins from Hall & Wilcox, where he was a partner for about three years.

He was also a partner at HWL Ebsworth for more than 10 years and worked at Norton Rose and Herbert Geer.
