Clyde & Co has appointed Jessica Thurtell as a partner in its Sydney office.

Ms Thurtell has a background in the financial services sector, including experience in life insurance, management liability matters and representing large insurers in complex litigation.

She also has expertise in responding to regulatory requests, and has represented clients at royal commissions and before the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.  

Ms Thurtell joined Clyde & Co as a consultant earlier this year, moving from DLA Piper, where she was a senior associate. She has also worked at Moray & Agnew, Henry Davis York, Westpac, Commonwealth Bank and BT Financial Group.

“Jessica has strong connections in the life insurance industry, which, combined with recent growth in our corporate practice, highlights our commitment to further develop the scope of our life insurance offering,” Clyde & Co insurance head Gareth Horne said.  

“Her experience in managing major and complex litigation, as well as management liability claims, also adds further depth to our national financial lines practice.”
