Marita Gribble will join Castle Insurance as broker development manager.  

The broker-focused agency launched on October 1 following QBE’s July announcement that it would no longer offer domestic householders cover directly through its broker channels.

QBE underwrites all of Castle’s portfolio and 20% of related home insurance agency Sure’s regional portfolio.  

Ms Gribble was a claims team leader at Sure and previously worked as Sedgwick’s Queensland relationships manager.  

She also spent 15 years at specialist insurer Phenix Jewellery, where she was insurer relations and claims services manager and national operations manager.

Castle MD Bradley Heath says Ms Gribble’s expertise will be “well utilised” at the agency.

“We are committed to the sustainable expansion of Castle’s national market presence and will pursue enhanced marketing and business development activity to grow the business,” he said.  

“It’s a critical priority to ensure we have the required level of expertise in the Castle business to deliver on our commitment to industry-leading broker support processes and communication.”  

Mr Heath last week told insuranceNEWS.com.au that broker reactions to the agency have been “enormously encouraging”.
