ANZIIF creates claims career pathway
The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance has developed a claims handler career pathway, providing guidance on courses and educational materials, and will develop similar resources for other parts of the sector.
The pathway follows the launch last week of an Insurance Council of Australia initiative to attract and retain talent in the industry.
ICA’s six-year Insurance Industry Talent Roadmap is designed to tackle a skills shortage that the peak body says will intensify as 30% of the current workforce is projected to retire by 2030.
ANZIIF says its career pathway material supports that initiative and will expand to areas such as loss adjusting, underwriting and broking, with education and professional development activities tailored to each role.
“This is a fantastic resource for insurance professionals, as it provides guidance on their career progression, so they can move with purpose and obtain the competency, knowledge and skills needed to ensure their clients have great customer outcomes,” institute CEO Katrina Shanks said.
