Upcover expands on fintech offer

Commercial insurance broking insurtech Upcover has launched tailored covers for financial technology companies, underwritten by CFC and Coalition.

The suite includes professional indemnity, cyber liability, directors’ and officers’, tech errors and omissions, crime and blockchain-specific coverage.

Clients so far include Cache Invest and pet insurance platform Fetch Pet.

Upcover says fintech founders often struggle to find policies that align with the technical, operational and regulatory nuances of modern businesses, and off-the-shelf products can fail to meet licensing, investor or enterprise procurement requirements.

“Having helped dozens of fintechs secure insurance for licence applications, fundraising and product launches, this new vertical reflects what we’ve already been doing, formalised and scaled,” co-founder Anish Sinha said.

“We’re not just a broker, we’re a fintech company in the financial services industry, too. We understand what’s at stake when founders face investor due diligence, [corporate regulator] compliance or procurement hurdles.”

Upcover completed a $19 million funding round in February.
