NIBA mentorship program opens applications
The National Insurance Brokers Association is seeking applications for next year’s mentoring program, which for the first time has a hybrid format.
The program, from February 15 to April 23, gives participants structured guidance to explore new perspectives and work towards career goals.
NIBA CEO Richard Klipin says adding virtual workshops means brokers can take part wherever they are in Australia, and NIBA is committed to helping professionals in regional and metropolitan areas alike access development opportunities.
An alumni event has also been introduced, bringing together mentors and mentees from recent years.
“The program’s expansion demonstrates the profession’s commitment to investing in its people and supporting the next generation of leaders,” Mr Klipin said.
“By encouraging shared learning and lasting relationships, the program supports individual career development and contributes to a stronger, more connected insurance profession.”
The program is open to brokers, insurers and associated professionals. There are three in-person workshops, two webinars and 10 weekly catch-ups with a mentoring partner.
Participation was up 50% to nearly 150 people last year, rising in every state and territory.
“This shows how much our members value that connection, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the 2027 intake,” NIBA VP Rebecca Wilson said.
