Willis Re says Neil Eckert, who co-founded reinsurer Conduit Re, will be joining the business as CEO. 

“Neil has built and led businesses across the full reinsurance value chain, and I know his leadership will sharpen our proposition and accelerate our growth ambitions,” Willis Re board member Lucy Clarke said. 

Mr Eckert has led Conduit Re as CEO since last year and will start his Willis Re role upon completion of his current contractual obligations. 

Conduit Re says Mr Eckert will finish his tenure on March 1. 

Mr Eckert began his career as a reinsurance broker, joining Benfield Group in 1986, and becoming a board member in 1988. He also co-founded Climate Exchange, a global platform for carbon-emissions trading.
