Insurance software provider Javln has weighed in on how brokers can best utilise artificial intelligence tools.
Head of document intelligence Tim Mole says the strongest use of AI in insurance is to “reduce friction” in operational workflows while keeping professional judgment with brokers and their teams.
“The real opportunity is not in asking AI to make decisions,” he said.
“It is in using it to handle the repetitive work that slows brokers down every day.”
According to Mr Mole, pre-renewal and renewal workflows are among the clearest examples where AI can make a difference.
Javln’s data shows around 80% of these tasks involved can be automated, including information gathering, document handling, note capture and preparing work for review.
“The firms that get this right will automate workflow, not accountability,” Mr Mole said. “There has to be a human in the loop anywhere a customer outcome is at stake. AI should support judgment, not replace it.”
