Howden Re has recruited Lockton Advisory Australia CEO John Philipsz to be its Australia and New Zealand MD.

Mr Philipsz will lead the local reinsurance and risk advisory team from July 1 as the intermediary enters its “next phase” of growth.

He led Lockton Australia’s advisory business from its launch in March 2022. Other previous roles include Willis Re Australia CEO and co-head of WTW’s Asia-Pacific operations. 

Mr Philipsz will take over from Stuart Beatty, who is moving roles to work with Howden Re Programs CEO Stephen Greener on managing general agent and market operations.
