BMS Australia adds lead lawyer
Georgina Reilly has been appointed general counsel at BMS Australia.
Sydney-based Ms Reilly was most recently legal counsel at Ardonagh Global Partners, where she transitioned to insurance law through work on cross-border mergers and acquisitions in the industry. She also has commercial, corporate and dispute resolution experience.
“Her deep legal expertise leading a range of complex legal, compliance and regulatory matters and her significant industry insight will be invaluable in supporting our continued expansion in the Australian market,” BMS CEO of Australia Andrew Godden said.
UK-based BMS Group was established in 1980 to deliver specialist insurance, reinsurance and capital market advisory services. The Australian arm has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Ms Reilly says she looks forward to supporting strategic initiatives and helping navigate legal and regulatory challenges, and is “keen to contribute to building a strong and responsive legal function and play a role in shaping how legal adds value to the business as it scales.
“I’m excited to be joining BMS at a time when the business is on such a strong growth trajectory in the Australian market.”
