Gallagher has put Asia-Pacific MD Steve Lockwood in charge of the Australian business on an interim basis as it pursues a “seamless transition to new leadership”.

The move comes after Sarah Lyons left the Australia and Asia CEO role this month, returning to the UK to head the broking giant’s specialty division.

The local business has been on the hunt for a new head since February, and Mr Lockwood will lead it until a permanent appointment is made.
