Delta recruits Australia MD
Specialist underwriting agency Delta Insurance Group has appointed Hamish MacLean as Australian MD as it looks to grow its position in the market.
Mr MacLean has spent the past eight years at Zurich, most recently as head of strategic broker management, and has more than 25 years’ experience in the broking and underwriting sectors.
Auckland-based Delta entered Australia four years ago and established offices in Sydney and Brisbane. Mr MacLean will be based in Melbourne as the company aims to cement its presence in Victoria. The agency also has operations in Asia.
Delta group CEO Kent Chaplin says Mr MacLean “will play a key role in forging stronger broker relationships and leading the Australian team to meet our ambitious growth targets”.
The agency, which has long-standing relationships with Lloyd’s carriers, is active in areas including management liability, professional indemnity, media professional indemnity, commercial legal expenses, accident and health, product recall and cyber.
It says it has rapidly evolved its Australian financial lines offering since launching in 2022 and is developing a broader SME offering tailored to the market.
