Youi kicks on with NRL recovery program
Youi and the National Rugby League have extended a partnership to help young people in regional communities recovering from weather events.
Returning for the third year, the Youi Community Scrum aims to build resilience and mental wellbeing.
From last Thursday to August 12, the program will help more than 250 participants through grassroots rugby league clubs and schools.
The scheme is led by NRL community ambassadors, including former Warriors and Titans star Clinton Toopi and other ex-professional players.
It has provided funding and equipment to schools and rugby league clubs, helping replace training gear lost or damaged during storms.
Youi chief marketing officer Angela Greenwood says the insurer knows the lasting impact such events can have on communities.
“Through our partnership with the NRL, we’re able to support young people with programs that promote mental wellbeing, resilience and connection at a grassroots level,” she said.
“Rugby league clubs and schools play such an important role in bringing communities together, from local clubs and schools through to the millions of fans who support the game every week.”
