Tesla hire to work on insurer relationships

Paul Sofronoff has joined car maker Tesla as insurance business manager for Australia and New Zealand.

He was previously RACT chief insurance officer and has worked for Suncorp and served on the Insurance Council of Australia board.

Tesla says it is committed to reducing customers’ costs of ownership, “with insurance repairs playing a critical role in achieving this goal”.

Mr Sofronoff will focus on expanding the company’s relationships with insurers.

The car maker says it wants to work with the industry to improve claims and repairs outcomes, and on innovative solutions tailored to electric vehicles.
