Ms McLoughlin, a Suncorp board member since 2015 and chairman since 2018, was recognised for significant service to business, the not-for-profit sector and to women.

The citation notes Ms McLoughlin is the Australian private sector representative to the G20 Empower Council, focused on women’s economic representation, and is Chairman and Co-Founder of the Minerva Network, supporting elite female athletes.

Previous business roles include being a director on Westpac insurance business boards, while she was Group Executive, Strategy, Human Resources and Communications at Insurance Australia from 2005-08, the citation says.

Dr Lu has more than 20 years’ experience representing the insurance industry, health practitioners and Government, beginning as a commercial insurance solicitor with what is now Herbert Smith Freehills.
