Steadfast charity project passes $10 million milestone
Steadfast Group says its charitable foundation has given more than $10 million to causes ranging from cancer research to helping homeless people since it launched 15 years ago.
“We believe in supporting charities that drive meaningful change in our communities,” CEO Robert Kelly said. “Many of the causes the Steadfast Foundation partners with are chosen based on the recommendations of our brokers who are involved with these organisations.”
He says a partnership with First Nations-led charity Bandu has helped increase work opportunities for young people. The group works to close the education and employment gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
“Part of Bandu’s work is delivering cultural safety training for corporate organisations, like Steadfast,” Mr Kelly said.
“This has really enhanced our team’s understanding of the inequalities First Nations people face and how we can all make our workplace inclusive for First Nations team members.”
The foundation selects a charity each year to be the Steadfast Convention charity partner. This year the group raised more than $450,000 for Guide Dogs Queensland.
