SALT shakes up executive team

Underwriting agency SALT Marine Risks Australia has made a series of leadership changes.

Marine underwriter Derek Leong has been appointed Head of Operations, and Marine Manager Marie Nugent’s role has been extended to encompass a broader remit across Australia. They will report to Senior Marine Manager Iain Sharples.

Head of Marine Andrew Black will reduce his day-to-day activities by moving into a strategic advisory role, continuing his involvement with the underwriting and claims teams.

Ms Nugent and Mr Leong will take up product management responsibilities for commercial hull, and Mr Sharples and Senior Marine Manager Richard Grant will oversee all cargo matters.

“It is great to see both Derek and Marie stepping up as the business continues to grow, in conjunction with our supporting brokers ... We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Andrew for his past contribution and look forward to his continuing involvement with SALT,” Executive Director Jade Bermingham said.
