New UAC directors primed to ‘elevate sector’

The Underwriting Agencies Council has finalised its new-look board following last week’s annual general meeting in Sydney.

NTI commercial EGM Michael Edmonds and Blue Zebra MD Colin Fagen stay on as chair and deputy chair respectively.

Argyle Insurance head of market management and finance Simon Ascroft becomes treasurer, taking over from Emergence CEO Troy Filipcevic, who has become company secretary/public officer.

The rest of the board are directors Anita Lane (CFC Underwriting), Peter Klemt (PassportCard Australia), Jason Clarke (360 Underwriting Solutions), Jodie Banks (About Underwriting), Natasha Gale (Market Lane Group) and UAC CEO Jenny Bax.

“We are excited to work with this incredible bunch of leaders who bring a wealth of experience, vision and dedication to advancing the underwriting agencies sector,” UAC said.

“Their expertise and commitment will undoubtedly drive innovation and growth for our members and the wider industry in the year ahead.”

Ms Bax said: “The collective expertise and passion across this board is extraordinary, and I’m looking forward to what we will achieve together in the year ahead.”

The council thanked retiring directors Heath Amber (Austagencies), Jeanene Hill (Market Lane Group), Anthony Porter (AFA Insurance) and Trent Brown (Allstate Underwriting) for “their tireless service and invaluable contributions”.
