Experienced executive James Harmer will leave Marsh to join Aon, insuranceNEWS.com.au understands.

Sydney-based Mr Harmer has worked with Marsh for more than 11 years, most recently as MD and risk management leader for NSW. He previously had a three-year stint at Aon in London.

Aon declined to comment on the appointment, or confirm Mr Harmer’s new title.

Separately, Aon’s Bhairav Shah has been promoted to national leader FSG for global and corporate, taking over from Mary-Catherine Hamill, who became head of construction in May.
