GB launches ‘game-changing’ reproductive leave policy
Gallagher Bassett has introduced a paid reproductive health leave scheme for employees.
The claims manager says it will provide 10 days’ paid leave a year for matters including IVF treatment, chronic reproductive health issues and preventative screening for breast or prostate cancers.
Australia CEO Pete Nicholson says the scheme covers “often overlooked” issues, and he encourages the industry to normalise such workplace initiatives.
“We recognise that reproductive health and wellbeing is an important and often overlooked aspect of employee wellness, and we want to support our people through their reproductive journey, whatever that may look like for them,” he said.
“We believe this policy is a game-changer for our industry and sets a new benchmark for how employers can care for their staff.”
Gallagher Bassett Australia will also increase its paid primary and secondary carer leave policies, offering 16 weeks and two weeks, respectively.
People and culture GM Tanith Jones says the new policies reflect “the feedback and experiences of our employees, as well as the latest research and best practices on reproductive health and wellbeing”.
