Dive In returns with a sense of belonging

The insurance industry’s Dive In festival of diversity and inclusion will be held worldwide on September 16-18 with the theme Belonging Builds Tomorrow.

The event, now in its 11th year, will focus on promoting belonging via culture, leadership, business performance, innovation and collaboration.

Last year, there were 44,329 attendees from more than 100 countries at 133 virtual and in-person sessions.

Inclusion@Lloyd’s chair and Markel chief underwriting officer Nick Line says inclusive environments are essential to attract and retain staff that “build aspirational, future-ready businesses and high-performing teams”.

“We’re operating in an era of unprecedented change, across politics, economics, societies and technology,” he said.

“This environment demands a resilient talent base that’s equipped to meet the challenges facing our industry and our customers, through constant innovation and calculated risk-taking.”

A #WhereIBelong social media campaign invites professionals to post photos on LinkedIn and Instagram with captions explaining how belonging helps them perform at their best.

Dive In US volunteer team co-lead Natalie Gibbons says making workplaces where people feel they belong is “a strategic business priority”.

“It’s how businesses create the environment for people to perform at their best and shape the future of our industry,” said Ms Gibbons, who is WTW’s carrier management director for CRB North America.

Dive In registrations open here on July 17.
