Canopius has recruited former Delta Insurance Australia MD Tesh Patel to be its head of distribution for Australia and New Zealand.  

It says he will focus on strengthening relationships, expanding market position and developing new client solutions.  

Mr Patel joins the global (re)insurer after an eight-month break following his time at Delta, where he played a key role establishing operations in Sydney and Brisbane.

He has also worked at Allianz and IAG, where was EM for the commercial portfolio, among other roles.  

Mr Patel will be based in Sydney, reporting to Canopius Asia-Pacific distribution and marine head Paul Hackett and Australia and New Zealand head Andrew Ziolkowski.
