ANZIIF reinsurance conference to tackle ‘risky trifecta’
The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance has announced key topics and speakers for its three-day Reinsurance Rendezvous next month.
The conference will focus on three reinsurance issues dubbed the risky trifecta: climate change, artificial intelligence and concussion in sports.
It will feature a mock trial demonstrating how legal and medical issues around concussion claims are handled in a courtroom. The trial will be presented by Gilchrist Connell chairman John Edmond and barristers Callan O’Neill and Teni Berberian.
There will also be a panel discussion on AI technologies, featuring QBE Ventures global head of emerging technology Alex Taylor and IAG advanced analytics EM Omid Karr.
Finity principal Rade Musulin will deliver a climate change presentation covering energy transition and decarbonisation risks.
“This event is designed to help insurance professionals develop their current knowledge base and gain the most up-to-date industry insights,” institute CEO Katrina Shanks said.
“We are fortunate to have a line-up of sensational industry experts presenting this year. There is much to learn from their expertise.”
The event runs from October 14-16 at the Rydges Resort in Hunter Valley, NSW.
