ANZIIF opens entries for Donna Walker Awards

The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance has opened submissions for this year’s Allianz Donna Walker Awards, with winners to be named at its annual Diversity and Inclusion Luncheon.

The awards honour the legacy of Allianz’s former chief technical officer by celebrating people who have contributed to improving diversity and representation in their workplace.

Prizes will be awarded across two categories: inspiring leadership, and emerging talent. Submissions are open until April 15, with entries in written form only.

The institute’s Diversity and Inclusion Luncheon will be in Sydney on May 28.

“The ANZIIF Diversity and Inclusion Luncheon is a great opportunity to focus on creating cultures of inclusion and belonging and to acknowledge that active commitments to such cultures make a real difference for our people and our customers,” institute CEO Katrina Shanks said.

“There is still some way to go in the insurance industry to achieve gender parity, cultural diversity and proportional representation of disabled, LGBTQIA+ and Indigenous Australians.

“However, the luncheon is a great forum to hear from an interesting panel, engage in insightful discussions and share best practices for promoting diversity and inclusion, with the aim of creating a more welcoming and supportive environment for all employees.”
