The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance says interest in this year’s industry awards gala has been “unprecedented”, after tickets for the August 21 event sold out. 

It released an extra 50 tickets for the function in Sydney, which will be attended by more than 850 professionals.

“This unprecedented response highlights the continued prestige of the ANZIIF Australian Insurance Industry Awards and the industry’s appetite to connect, recognise achievements and honour outstanding contributions,” CEO Katrina Shanks said.

Awards across 15 categories – including large broker and large insurer of the year – are up for grabs. ANZIIF will also announce its insurance leader and lifetime achievement winners. 

In the New Zealand awards scheme, applicants have until the extended deadline of September 1 to lodge submissions. Tickets for the ceremony on November 27 in Auckland are on sale.
