AILA begins search for best young public speakers
The Australian Insurance Law Association has opened applications for this year’s young professionals’ public speaking competition.
The contest is open to all insurance and insurance law professionals aged 35 and below. Entries close at 5pm on July 25.
Applicants must choose an insurance-related topic to speak on, and 30 will be chosen to participate in a free online Australian Institute of Management public speaking workshop on August 5 before the final shortlist is announced on August 26.
Three finalists will receive an additional six hours of intensive coaching before a live showdown in Melbourne on October 15, when they will present on their chosen topics to judges and an audience of industry professionals. The winner will receive $5000.
The annual competition is held in honour of Ron Shorter, a long-time AILA supporter who was practice manager at Colin Biggers & Paisley in Sydney until his death in 2012.
