Agile will expand into construction underwriting, with former Zurich Australia construction and engineering head Gordon McNab to lead a new division backed by the agency’s own Lloyd’s syndicate.

Mr McNab has more than 35 years’ experience in contract work and engineering underwriting, including senior positions at Munich Re and CGU.  

Agile CEO Robin Barham says Mr McNab “brings the kind of deep technical knowledge, pragmatism and mentoring spirit that perfectly fits Agile’s culture. He’ll play a key role in delivering the underwriting precision and broker support Agile is known for.”  

The move into construction follows the underwriting agency’s launch into the New Zealand market last November.
