EML Group’s Canberra branch has been named insurance leader of the year in the ACT Insurance Awards.

B2W Solutions’ Palak Halwadia, QBE, and Allianz Workers Compensation’s Ann-Marie McGuire were finalists in the category.  

Ms McGuire won the excellence in leadership award, and GIO Workers Compensation’s Christopher Agland was a finalist.

The territory awards spotlight leaders who “set benchmarks, challenge norms and inspire us all to do better”.  

Konekt’s Mark Tapper won the excellence in risk management award, with Gallagher’s Gail Murray and Allianz’s Anne Ching finalists.  

Hall & Wilcox Lawyers’ Matthew Needham won the deal-maker of the year award, and Allianz Workers Compensation’s David Mooney and IQumulate’s Zoe Higgins were finalists.

Allianz’s Carolina Zubieta Ortiz won the award for excellence in claims. QBE’s Lara Cox and GIO Workers Compensation’s Esteban Neilsen were finalists. 

Aon’s Carrie Burgess was named best support person of the year, with Kairros’ Roshan Thapa and PSC Insurance’s Charlie Cartwright finalists.
