Red Planet-backed air race soars to fundraising record

Red Planet Software helped raise more than $1 million for the Royal Flying Doctor Service by supporting this year’s Outback Air Race.

The premium funding software group was naming rights sponsor for the fundraiser, in which 37 light aircraft competed between August 22 and September 8 in support of remote healthcare.

This year’s sum is a record for the biennial race, which has now raised more than $5 million since 1996.

Red Planet Software CEO Peter Williams raced for the fifth time, captaining his team The Three Amigos.

“Raising $1 million is more than a milestone – it’s a lifeline,” he said. “In the insurance industry, our software exists to protect businesses and clients when it matters most.

“This race was about carrying that same promise beyond the desk and into the skies.”
