NIBA seeks nominations for key awards
Nominations for two National Insurance Brokers Association awards are open until March 6.
Broker and young broker of the year winners will be selected from NSW/ACT, Queensland, SA/NT, Victoria/Tasmania and WA, and will be unveiled in July at NIBA gala lunches.
Victors in the two categories then contend for national honours, and the winning pair will be crowned at the NIBA Convention on the Gold Coast in October.
CEO Richard Klipin says the awards recognise brokers who “consistently raise the standard of service, integrity and professionalism”.
The broker award, which honours the late Stephen Ball, is sponsored by CGU. The winner will receive a short-course educational experience at a leading New York or London business school. State winners will participate in a CGU on-country experience in September and a capability-building workshop.
“This ongoing partnership with NIBA reinforces CGU’s commitment to recognise broker ambition, celebrating leaders who are raising the bar and ensuring that our profession is future-ready,” CGU EGM Damien Gallagher said.
The young broker category was launched in 1990 in honour of former insurance commissioner and lecturer Warren Tickle, who also worked at Sun Alliance – now known as Vero, which sponsors the award.
Nominations are open for candidates aged under 35. Five state winners will participate in a Vero professional program, and the national champion will receive a tailored development experience valued at $10,000.
Vero head of distribution Anthony Pagano says the award celebrates “exceptional emerging talent and the impact these brokers are already making across our profession”.
