New agency offers ‘bespoke, capital-efficient’ treaty solutions
The Fidelis Partnership’s Pine Walk platform has launched an underwriting agency offering excess-of-loss solutions across treaty, captive and direct lines.
London-based Carnovis Specialty also offers quota-share solutions for treaty clients.
The products are targeted at reinsurers and multinational companies, plus smaller businesses.
“We’re excited about the opportunities Carnovis brings to deliver bespoke, capital-efficient solutions to clients worldwide,” Fidelis CEO of insurance Richard Coulson said.
Carnovis is the 16th agency for Pine Walk, which was founded in 2017 to provide technical, regulatory and operational support for underwriters, along with investment and working capital. Its gross written premium is expected to pass $US1.2 billion ($1.86 billion) this year.
The new agency will be led by former Allianz Commercial global head of alternative risk transfer Grant Maxwell, who says demand is growing for structured solutions that bridge the gap between traditional insurance and capital markets.
“Clients want ... tailored terms that better reflect their portfolio and strategic goals. Carnovis is purpose-built to deliver that flexibility,” he said.
