Marsh head of affinity takes NIBA board seat
Kirsten Mills has joined the National Insurance Brokers Association board, replacing Gary Okely who departs after more than a decade.
Melbourne-based Ms Mills is Pacific head of affinity at Marsh, where she has worked almost seven years.
She previously spent 12 years at JLT and more than six at Sportscover, where she began as an underwriter.
“Her extensive experience will be a real asset as we continue to support brokers and advocate for the profession to be future-ready,” NIBA president Nick Cook said.
Mr Cook thanked Mr Okely, saying he has “given an extraordinary amount to NIBA and to the profession over more than a decade on the board. His steady leadership, deep commitment to members and clear focus on raising professional standards have strengthened NIBA and the value we deliver.”
Association CEO Richard Klipin says Mr Okely’s contribution to the profession has been “invaluable”.
“I am grateful for the time, counsel and energy he has invested in giving back to the profession,” he said.
“I am deeply thankful to Gary for the significant impact he has made and wish him all the very best.
“I also welcome Kirsten to the board and look forward to working closely with her as we advance NIBAʼs priorities and continue advocating for the profession.”
