Lockton rewards staff member’s fundraising efforts
Lockton Pacific has given its annual community impact award to senior associate Matthew Harden for raising funds for men’s mental health.
For the past five years, Mr Harden has participated in the Movember Foundation’s annual fundraising campaign, raising $5278 for research and support related to men’s mental health, post-traumatic stress disorder, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Last year, he swam more than 60km throughout November, completing the distance in 2.5km instalments.
He says his commitment to the annual fundraiser stems from his experience as an army veteran dealing with PTSD, and being a father.
“We all know men who’ve struggled with mental health, cancer, or lost the battle entirely,” Mr Harden said. “Movember is there when they need it most.”
Lockton will donate $US25,000 ($34,950) to a non-profit organisation of Mr Harden’s choice.
