Lockton exec runs for charity after son’s diagnosis

Adam Squire will compete in the Sydney Marathon next August to raise funds for Arrow Foundation, which helps bone marrow transplant patients.

Mr Squire, Lockton head of claims, will run for his son Charlie, 18, who was diagnosed with leukemia in September. It is hoped Charlie will receive an essential bone marrow/stem cell transplant in February.

“After some blood tests, he had a frightening phone call: ‘Go straight to emergency, we think you have leukemia.’ Life went on hold,” Mr Squire said.

“Life can be brutal, so take that big trip you have talked about for years, get the convertible, or get the better champagne. You don’t know what's around the corner.”

Mr Squire has already raised more than $5000. Donations can be made here.
