HDI names new senior underwriter as veteran departs

Carika Schultz has been promoted to underwriting manager for international programs at HDI Global, as Jeff Altit retires.

Mr Altit joined the insurer in 1998 and was the longest-serving staffer at HDI Australia, which commended his “dedication and the central role he has played in building the company’s international portfolio over the decades”.

Head of HDI Global Asia-Pacific and MD for Australia Stefan Feldmann said: “Jeff’s contribution to HDI Australia is truly unparalleled.

“Nearly three decades of dedication, knowledge and leadership have left a lasting mark on our business and on everyone who has had the privilege of working alongside him.”

Mr Altit says it has been an “immense privilege to be part of HDI’s journey in Australia. I leave with tremendous pride in what we have built together, and complete confidence in the team that will carry it forward.”

Sydney-based Ms Schultz joined HDI Global in 2008.

She now leads the underwriting and servicing of corporate and industrial clients’ international insurance programs placed through HDI’s Australian operation.

“I am honoured to take on this leadership role and to build on the exceptional foundations Jeff has laid over so many years,” she said.

“Our international programs clients rely on us for consistency, expertise and innovative solutions across borders. I look forward to continuing that standard of excellence with our talented team.”
