Gallagher names interim Australia head

Steve Lockwood is leading Gallagher’s Australian business on an interim basis after the departure of Sarah Lyons at the start of the month.

Ms Lyons, who was Australia and Asia CEO, returned to the UK after more than a decade down under and now heads the broking giant’s specialty division.

Asia-Pacific MD Mr Lockwood will lead the business in Australia until a permanent replacement is found.

“We are dedicated to ensuring a seamless transition to new leadership while maintaining our exceptional level of client service,” a spokesperson told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

The local business has been on the hunt for a new head since February.

Mr Lockwood co-founded Auckland-based Crombie Lockwood in 1978. The brokerage was acquired by Gallagher more than a decade ago.
