Cyber specialist adds personal protection for business leaders
CFC has introduced cyber policy enhancements to support senior executives facing personal threats.
Protections include cover for personal crime and extortion exposure, temporary relocation costs for executives and their families, and trauma counselling after an attack.
The changes to CFC’s Cyber Proactive Response also include enhanced affirmative AI coverage and an extended indemnity period for business interruption claims.
CFC head of global cyber underwriting Scott Bailey says cyberattacks increasingly target people running businesses.
“Senior executives can face unique personal exposures during high-pressure extortion and social engineering events, involving credible threats, harassment or physical security concerns affecting their families,” he said.
“These enhancements are designed to provide ... support that reflects the human impact of cyber incidents as well as the financial one.”
Cyber Proactive Response now includes an extended indemnity period of 18 months as standard for system BI losses, which CFC says more closely aligns with real-world business recovery timelines.
Affirmative AI coverage enhancements include explicit cover for AI-enabled social engineering attacks, deepfakes, voice cloning, impersonations, LLMjacking and other related exposures.
There is also affirmative cover for social media accounts used in business operations and clarification around policy limits and deductibles.
