Coalition names new national GM
Trent Nihill has been promoted to GM for Australia at cyber specialist Coalition, as Sam Weaver departs the business.
Mr Weaver, from Chicago, has returned to the US from Sydney to take up a senior broking role.
Brisbane-based Mr Nihill has been Coalition Australia’s head of underwriting since the business entered the Australian market two years ago.
He was formerly Emergence Insurance’s head of corporate cyber and Chubb’s leader for cyber and technology. He also spent a year at CFC in London and seven years at Zurich.
Coalition head of international Kyle Bryant says Mr Nihill “has the strategic vision and deep market experience needed to scale Coalition to the next level in Australia”.
Mr Nihill says he is excited to “drive a more active era of cyber insurance for Australian businesses. We’ve been able to build a truly incredible business in Australia over the last two years. I’m looking forward to continuing to drive our mission of protecting the unprotected and fundamentally changing how organisations manage cyber risk.”
Coalition also operates in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and France. In August, it launched digital forensics and incident response in Australia.
