Coalition brings cyber incident response to Australia

Cyber specialist Coalition has launched digital forensics and incident response in Australia.

Praneil Kumar has been appointed to “lead and scale” the service, which involves negotiating with threat actors, deploying the latest tools, and partnering with cybersecurity providers to help mitigate financial and data losses.

The service managed more than 700 cases worldwide for Coalition policyholders last year.

Local GM Sam Weaver says Coalition Australia is dedicated to providing innovative solutions to evolving cyber threats.

“Our strong growth and expanding local team further solidify our commitment to delivering exceptional value to partners and clients and helping them mitigate digital threats before they can escalate into full-blown attacks,” he said.

Mr Kumar was most recently a manager at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence and says joining Coalition is a “natural next step”.

“It allows me to leverage my deep cybersecurity experience to work side by side with our Australian policyholders – businesses that ... often lack the resources to manage cyber incidents alone,” he said.

“I want to be a partner to help an organisation through one of its worst days. My commitment is to provide immediate, expert guidance and a clear path to recovery.”
